Start with the task

A fluent answer is easy to mistake for a finished piece of work. Before you ask a model to help, define the output: a draft, a summary or a list of questions. Decide what a useful result looks like and who will check it.

Keep a small review loop

Our editorial suggestion is simple: check factual claims against the original sources, review anything the model leaves uncertain, and approve the result before it reaches someone else. For an automated workflow, keep an explicit stop before publishing or changing data.

Match the check to the consequences

A brainstorming note and a customer message need different levels of review. The NIST AI Risk Management Framework offers a voluntary approach to considering trustworthiness across the design, use and evaluation of AI systems. The review loop above is our practical interpretation, not a NIST certification.
